It was New Year’s Eve in New York City. All the fireworks were nervous and excited because tonight they would have their big show. At midnight, they would be magical, beautiful fireworks. But they were nervous, they thought “Uh Oh! What if we don't do a good job tonight? What if people think we’re boring?”

 

The fireworks talked and talked about how to make their show exciting. 10 seconds before midnight they were ready: Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One!

 

Up they went and the crowd shouted, “Happy New Year!”

 

Everyone said it was the greatest fireworks show they had seen.
