Lucas was only ten years old and he was already inventing flying contraptions. His dream was to fly across the countryside. Even though the other kids laughed at him, Lucas knew he would accomplish his dream.

After many months of hard work, Lucas’s flying machine was ready. Lucas climbed to the highest hill in town and with a running start, he jumped off the cliff and away he flew! 

 

Up in the clouds, he felt like a bird. He looked down and he saw his little village, he saw his family’s house and further down he saw the little river that ran through town. He kept flying and flying until he saw castles, windmills, and forests. It was the most amazing view he had ever seen. 

 

After many hours flying in the sky, he returned home where he was celebrated as a hero.

在云端，他感觉自己像一只小鸟。他低头看到了他的小村庄，看到了他家的房子，又看到了更远的地方，他看见那条穿过小镇的小河。他不停地飞，直到看到城堡、风车和森林。这是他见过的最壮观的景色。

在空中飞行几个小时后，他回到了家乡，他被家乡的人们当作英雄。
