The Cookie Jar
The footprints led into the cave. Police officer Cruz knew the answer to her question lay inside the cave. Who stole all the cookies from the cookie jar?
She had worked this case since the morning and her clues all led to this cave. She pulled out her flashlight, turned it on, and shined the light into the mouth of the cave.
“Hello, cookie thief, I know you are in there. Come on out, there is nothing to worry about. You aren’t in trouble. I promise.” Police officer Cruz’s words echoed through the dark cave.
A few moments later, a face popped into the flashlight’s beam. It was Timmy, only 8 years old, a good kid with a bright future until this morning when he became public enemy #1. Police officer Cruz knew him as the “The Cookie Thief”.
“I only wanted to eat one but it was so yummy that I had to eat all the cookies from the cookie jar! I knew my parents would be mad at me so I ran away from home.” Timmy cried.
“It’s ok, little guy. Your parents are at home worried sick about you. I guess I have to arrest you for just being too adorable.”
The case of “Who stole all the cookies from the cookie jar?” was solved.
