Once upon a time, there were many flowers on a hill in the countryside. There were blue flowers, there were yellow flowers and there were red flowers. Each of the different colored flowers thought they were the most beautiful.

The yellow flowers would say, “Oh, look at us. We are so beautiful!”

The red flowers would reply, “Humph, that simply isn’t true because we are more beautiful, humph.”

​

The blue flowers would laugh and say, “Hahahaha, fools. We…are…the most beautiful.”

Every day they would fight, they wouldn’t eat, they wouldn’t drink and they were never happy. They would only fight. In the end, they all became very sick because they didn’t take care of themselves. They were too busy worrying about others and who was more beautiful.

 

从前，在乡下的小山上有许多花。有蓝色的花、黄色的花，还有红色的花。每种不同颜色的花都认为它们是最美丽的。

那些黄色的花会说，“噢，看我们，我们最美丽！”

红色的花说：“哼，才不是，我们比较漂亮。哼。”

蓝色的花笑着说：“哈哈哈，傻瓜。我们…是最美的。”

他们每天都吵架，不吃也不喝，也不快乐。他们只会争吵。终于，花儿们都生病了，病得很重，因为他们没有照顾好自己。他们太担心别的花儿比自己更漂亮了。
