Lucy loved to play outside with her friends. She was so excited to play that she would forget to close the front door. Her parents would yell, “Close the front door!”

But Lucy would always forget to close the front door. One day, Lucy forgot to close the front door… in the middle of winter! When she came home that night, everyone was very sick. They were coughing “COUGH! COUGH!” and sneezing “ A-A-A CHOO!”.

Lucy’s parents said, “Lucy, we ask you to close the front door every day and you always forget. We have an idea.”. With that, they tied a red string around Lucy’s finger.

​

Lucy’s parents said, “Next time you open the front door, you will see the red string and remember to close it.”

​

The next day, Lucy ran out to play with her friends. She opened the front door and she looked down and saw the red string, “I need to close the front door.” 

​

 

露西喜欢和她的朋友们在外面玩。她玩得太高兴了，所以经常忘了关门。她的父母会大喊：“把门带上！”

​

但是露西总是忘记带上门。有一天，天气非常冷，露西又忘了关门。当她晚上回到家时，家人都病得很厉害。他们不停咳嗽。“咳！咳！”。他们打喷嚏。“阿嚏！阿嚏！”

​

露西的父母说：“露西，我们让你每天带上门你总是忘记。我们有个办法。”    他们拿出一根红线，系在露西的手指上。

​

露西的父母说：“下次你开门时，会看到手指上的红线，提醒你要关门。” 

​

第二天，露西出去和朋友们玩。她打开大门时，低头看到了红线，“我得把门带上。”
